BPRES News: Run Info and HV

Jan.4, 1999 : HV for each PMT was finally optimized.
Starting from 1999 (31784 run), BPRES can be used for the electron energy correction and other studies.

Jan.20, 1999 : HV for each PMT was tuned according to the mean signal seen from DQM.

Jan.27, 1999 : Fast Clear can be used for BPRES data.
Use O1TTY(IT1,IT2,IT3) to check trigger.
IF IT1=0 - this event was OK
IF IT1=1 - event was aborted (about 40% for 31944 run).
IF IT1=2 - test trigger.
Events with IT1=1 should be accepted for the BPRES analysis.

Feb.10, 1999 DQM was significantly modified.
Now all mean values are given in terms of units closely related to pC, rather than PBTENE bank. Each unit corresponds to 3 x pC. For example, 12 units in DQM corresponds to 4 pC seen from PMT.

Feb.24, 1999 : Calibration. New HV setting was implemented using hadrons. Starting from the run 32186, the mean signal is expected to be 5 pC for each channel.

Feb.27, 1999 : Calibration. New HV setting was implemented using hadrons. starting from the run 32206. This calibration set is slightly tuned with respect to Feb.24. If HV is below 800 and above 1200, it was set to nominal 955 for 1.25 gain.

March.03, 1999 : Information on non-used and bad channels

Mar.15, 1999 : BPRES is included into TLT on-line (histos 20000 and 20001).

March.19, 1999 : Calibration. New HV setting was implemented using hadrons. starting from the run 32439. This calibration set is slightly tuned with respect to Feb.27. If HV is above 1200, it was set to 1200.

May.21, 1999 : Access. Many PMT bases have been repaired. (about 25 PMT basses)

July 26, 1999 : Calibration. New HV setting was implemented using hadrons. starting from the run 33131. The gain for PMT is 1.25. If HV is above 1200, it was set to 1200.

Aug. 12, 1999 : Some problems after the access

Aug. 23, 1999 : Short access. The problems from the previous access have been fixed. 4 channels should be good starting from the run 033402

Dec,13, 1999 : BPRES was turned off until January 14, 2000

Jan.10, 2000 : Test of BPRES. No Y2K problem. Updated status on bad channels: Bad channels

March 6-8, 2000 : Detector is open. Due to water leak on BCAL module No3 during work on BCAL, one channel does not have read back (BPRE module N3, tile 9). Heuijin replaced one channel : Now tile on module 4 tile 12 is set to spare channel 12 (before it was channel 51). This swap is effective starting from physics run 35482.

April 4-5, 2000 : Access. The last physics run is 35799. HV PC was rebooted. The current number of the channels with readback less than 700 V is 16 (before the access: 21).

April 25, 2000 : The off-line DQM program was modified in accordance with Steve's kumacs. Now there are two sets of BPRE histograms available: (1) and (2). The first set is created using profile histograms generated from BPRE DQM ntuple. In this case the average signals per channel are about 5 pC. This is consistent with the other calibration programs for which the 5pC charge is a reference signal. The DQM program also creates a ntuple for each DQM run and copy it into the public directory /chekanov/public/bpres/run_status/ with the previous DQM results.

April 30, 2000 : Cooling water problem in Ruckzack. Last run: 36119. BPRES PC and CAMAC crate are off. BPRES HV is off for 4 hours.

May 2, 2000 : Access. Last run is 36166. BPRES HV is off

May 18, 2000 : Access. Last run is 36340. BPRES HV is off

May 25, 2000 : calibration is finished for 00 data. BPRESTOOL is updated

May 27, 2000 : Emergency access. BPRES HV is off. Last run number is 26434

Jul. 12, 2000 : Access. BPRES HV is off. Last run number is 37091
