             Exclusive electroproduction of rho^0 mesons at HERA

                                    Abstract


     Exclusive production of rho^0 mesons has been studied in e^+p 
     collisions in the kinematic range 2 < Q^2 < 80 GeV^2 and 
     32 < W < 160 GeV with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an 
     integrated luminosity of 38 pb^{-1}. The ratio of the production 
     cross sections for longitudinally and transversely polarized 
     virtual photons, determined from the angular distribution of the 
     decay products of the rho^0, is presented as a function of Q^2 
     and W. The parameters of the exchanged trajectory are determined 
     from the W dependence of the rho^0 production cross section at 
     fixed t and their dependence on Q^2 is investigated.
