Abstract submitted to the International Europhysics Conference on High Energy Physics July 12 - 18, 2001, Budapest, Hungary _________________________________________________________________________ Measurement of the Q^2 dependence of the dijet production associated with charm at HERA ZEUS Collaboration Abstract The dependence of the virtual-photon structure on its virtuality, Q^2, is studied for the first time in events containing dijets and a charm particle with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 104 pb^{-1}. The measurement is made in the kinematic range 0 < Q^2 < 5x10^3 GeV^2 using dijet events containing a D^{*\pm}. Events having two jets with large transverse energies are selected using the longitudinally invariant k_T algorithm in the laboratory frame. The dijet cross section is measured as a function of the fractional momentum of the photon participating in the dijet production, (x_{gamma}^{obs}), and of Q^2. The ratio of the cross section at low x_{gamma}^{obs} ("resolved photon") relative to high x_{gamma}^{obs} ("direct photon") is compared to the predictions of leading-order pQCD and with previous dijet measurements which did not require the presence of charm.
