     Inclusive jet cross sections in neutral current DIS in the Breit frame

                                    Abstract


    The inclusive jet cross section in neutral current deep inelastic
    positron-proton scattering has been measured with the ZEUS
    detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 38 pb-1.
    Double-differential cross sections are presented as a function of
    the jet transverse momentum (P_t) and the squared four-momentum
    transfer (Q^2), for 5 GeV $< p_T < $ 100 GeV and $Q^2 > 130$
    GeV$^2$.  The results are compared to next-to-leading-order QCD
    calculations.
