ZARAH infrastructure
The present ZARAH PC farm consists of 73 dual processor nodes and 19 nodes with two dual-core processors, where 36 nodes are based on Intel Xeon 3.06 GHz, 37 nodes on 2.6 GHz AMD Opteron CPUs and Tyan motherboard and 19 nodes have dual-core Intel Xeon 3.0 GHz CPUs.
The LSF is used as a batch system, which integrates the computation nodes into the cluster. The batch farm is configured in a way that all available resources are used in an efficient way and appropriate shares are given to the individual users' analysis jobs and the ZEUS reconstruction system.
The ZEUS event repository contains several hundreds of Tera Bytes of data stored in the DESY mass storage system (tape library). The data transfer between the farm nodes and the DESY mass storage system is performed using the dCache system. At present the ZEUS cache system consists of 47 servers used for reading data and in addition uses the DESY dCache infrastructure for writing new datasets. Total capacity of read pools dedicated for ZEUS is about 170TB. The transfer rate very often exceeds 10TB/day.
